What You Can Expect
Prices
You pay per pound and per item.

Paper is 95¢, $1.55, $2.50, and $5.00 per pound dependent upon the shred size you choose.

Hard disk drives (hdd) and solid-state drives (ssd) are $15.00 each.

CDs & DVDs are 25¢ per disk.

Floppy & Zip disks are 25¢ per disk for crosscut destruction, 50¢ per disk for high-intensity magnetic destruction, 75¢ for both.

Jaz disks are $5.00 per disk for high-intensity magnetic destruction.

SyQuest cartridges are $5.00 per cartridge for high-intensity magnetic destruction.

Destroyed material is recycled.

Paying for Service
Payment in cash or check at the time of service is preferred.

American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa accepted as well.

Drop off shredding service : 23 pound service minimum

Pick up for off site shredding service : 100 pound service minimum

Container Service : Level 6 Shredding provides document collection containers to it's San Francisco clients at no additional charge.

Call 1 (415) 341-1003 to schedule your free delivery of the container that best suits your needs.

When you fill your container, let us know. We come back, pick up, and destroy your paper documents with the crosscut shred of your choice.

Your Certificate of Destruction is provided upon completion.

We offer collection containers that hold 2½, 3, 3½, and 10 boxes worth of documents, or about 62, 74, 80, 85, and 250 pounds.

Slim Profile Collection Containers
Level 6 Shredding's 24, 27, and 30 inch tall slim document container is available at no additional cost to our customers. Features a locking, tamper resistant lid for collection of documents awaiting destruction.

Designed for small spaces, under a desk or counter. Ideal in the copy room.

Level 6 Shredding's 36 inch tall office console is available at no additional cost to our customers. Office consoles provide locking, tamper resistant collection of documents awaiting destruction.

Purge and Central Collection Containers
Level 6 Shredding's 42 inch tall wheeled document container is available at no additional cost to our customers. Wheeled collection containers designed for file purge events.

Convenient as a secured, central document collection container.

Holds up to 250 pounds worth of documents, about 10 file boxes worth.

Drop-off Service : By appointment, you deliver your materials to our door. We will calculate your cost, take payment, and give you your numbered receipt.

Level 6 Shredding has two convenient locations, one in the Castro and another in the Bayview.

In the Castro district at 139 Collingwood Street #A, between 18th and 19th Streets. This block of Collingwood is one-way southbound. Therefore, you need to come in from 18th Street.

Street parking is difficult and double parking is prohibited.

Floppy and Zip Disk Destruction : Your disk is physically destroyed by crosscut shred and/or by high-intensity magnet.

The high-intensity degaussing device used to destroy your data was evaluated, rated, and is listed [*] by the National Security Agency (NSA) and Central Security Services (CSS) as high security.

Your data is fully erased and irrecoverable by NSA/CSS and Department of Defense (DoD) standards.

Technically speaking, this equipment provides high security sanitizing with a typical peak flux of 8000+ gauss, a maximum flux of 12,000 gauss, and a minimum flux of 6,000 gauss.

Floppy and Zip disk destruction is available with drop-off, on-site, in-location, witnessed, and pick up services.

No matter what service you choose, you will provide your disk material, we will calculate your cost, take payment, and give you your numbered receipt.

Your hard drive is dismantled and the data storage platters are removed. This physical destruction of your drive renders it irrecoverably inoperable. Data compromise is virtually impossible.

Not satisfied with "virtually impossible," we apply the highest level of destruction by degaussing your hard drive's storage platter(s).

Your numbered receipt and Certificate of Destruction are provided at the time of service.

A 200 pound service minimum applies. 200 pounds is about 9 boxes worth, or about 15 grocery bags worth, as we've experienced on average over 9 years.

The 95 cent per pound level 3 crosscut shred is not available with On-site Service.

Witnessed Destruction : Witnessed Destruction is available at your location and at our Bayview location. Service at your location is exclusively by appointment. Service at our Bayview location is provided on a walk-in, first come first served basis, no appointment needed.

Type, size, and quantity of material all play a role in the time needed to complete the destruction.

The 95 cent per pound level 3 crosscut shred is not available for destruction at your location. It is available at our Bayview location.
